Dancing with Shadows: Silhouettes of Afro-Caribbean Mysticism (2014) was my very first audio-visual presentation for Mind Glow Media (MGM), and it clocks in at over 50 minutes.
It highlights some of the sights and sounds of the Afro-Caribbean spiritual experience with a brief exploration of Brazil thrown into the mix.
I put it together in early 2014 using Windows Live which was arguably the most basic video editing software on the market. I don’t even know if anyone uses it anymore.
This was my very first attempt at using any kind of video editing program without any direction or assistance. I taught myself and had fun with it. If you’ve seen my video promos on Instagram now, you can see that I’ve come a long way.
I’m excited about what I will do with more professional video editing programs in the near future. This insightful amateur presentation shows rife flashes of the promise that I’m just beginning to show as a visual artist.
Enjoy!
