Fragmented Dream Visions of a Forgotten World
Tamil Nadu—home of the ancient Dravidians—is known for its exotic temple architecture. Its surrealistic constructions look like what one might imagine in a psychedelic trip, or visit to an extraterrestrial civilization occupying the outskirts of infinity. My great, great grandmother was from India by way of Jamaica, which may explain why the imagery from the southern most region of India resonates with me.
According to the Tamil mythology of the Purana texts, Kumari Kandam—a land south of Tamil Nadu—sank into the Indian Ocean in primordial times. Some New Age researchers have speculated that this was the lost civilization of Lemuria. Others say that Mu was in Southeast Asia’s Pacific Ocean.
