Many people religiously complain about their circumstances without exploring how they can embody their own ideals to create their desired reality.
Then there are a select few who do just that by unapologetically living out their fantasies. They take on the likeness of the gods and goddesses of our current age: comic book super heroes, video game royalty, and professional wrestlers.
Are these cosplay enthusiasts dressing up like this every day, or only on weekends? Only they know for certain. Still, it really doesn’t matter, because they are intentionally creating a space for themselves to embody what they choose to be in this realm of space-time.
There are a growing number of men and women of all walks of life who are choosing to live out the most idealized versions of themselves. These folks I took pictures of here from this this past weekend’s Brooklyn ComicCon are just a few of them (the Super Mario couple photo was taken by YouNGSvantPhotGraphy)
They’re cultivating a culture of fun and excitement around themselves within a growing economy regardless of what the “cool,” emotionally worn out and mentally broken adults around them think about it.
Within that, I see a worthy example all human beings can learn from. As we get older we’re programmed to dismiss fantasy as the preoccupation of children who have nothing important to do.
Maybe the child at heart understands something critically important about life that the Rational, mature adult has long forgotten.
The word “Fantastic” comes out of the word “Fantasy.” Shout out to those who value Keeping it Fantastic over Keeping it Real. Keep in mind, the revival of metaphysics and esotericism of the early 2000s that has now filtered into pop culture was mainly spearheaded by young Black men who grew up on comic books and super hero fantasies.
There’s nothing more powerful or more revolutionary than living out the cherished reality of your imagination. It’s the bedrock upon which everything beautiful is built.
There were some Dope Ass Costumes. 🔥🔥🔥👌
