Yesterday, I watched the Jordan Peele-produced psychological thriller, HIM, released to movie theaters last Friday.

It’s all about the protagonist Cameron Cade, a rising star quarterback who endures a potentially career-ending brain injury after he’s physically attacked by a football superfan. Just when it seems that Cade’s career is dead in the water the very quarterback he grew up idolizing, Isaiah White, gives him an opportunity to play for the SAVIORS football team.

All that he has to do is show that he’s deserving of a spot after a one-week training session alongside White in the desert. This proves to be a Temptation of the Christ as White pushes Cade asking him what he’s willing to sacrifice in order to be HIM, which is also THE GOAT—an animal that is often ritually sacrificed by someone looking for a SAVIOR.
